F this shizzz...

So.. after reading a friends blog on how she's going to get fit, I have decided to start one myself. For the longest I've been overweight. Man, when I was in my early 20's I thought I was a fat ass and I was barely 10lbs overweight. I just saw myself as humongous. And... that's the last time I saw myself under 200 lbs. 192 lbs and that was in 2000. Jebus! I look back now and can't believe how self conscious I was. Well... now I'm waaaay above 200. I'm 263 right now... see pic.

I'm 5'11 and 263. I've been hovering the 260 range for 3 years now. Actually it was riding with Midnight Ridazz which helped me drop 20lbs. I was 283 lbs before riding my bike and I'm sooooo glad I started riding with them. So here I am. Ready to write down some short term goals. I want to lose 30 by June but I think that's going to be difficult. How about losing 10 by, let's say, May 1st? Let's start out slow. Not make any huge jumps.

Excercise is a definite must but I know... the one thing that will be hard to stay away from is RICE!! I LOOOOOOOOOoove rice!! Sheesh... I'm half Mexican/Filipino in which they both eat rice!! I'm going to keep a journal of all the crap I eat for this month and see where I'm going wrong. By the end of the week I'll decide on what "diet" I'm going to follow. You know, just plain watching calories or going high protein, low carbs stuff. <~~~ Which I don't want cause that'll mean I give up the rice and the beer. Oh yeah. I like beer.... AND SODA!! Man this is going to be tough.

American Flag Ettiquette... in Burbank, CA...

So I'm stuck in traffic on San Fernando Rd. during rush hour and I take a look around and notice someone lowering the US and State flag located in front of Burbank's Animal Shelter. I remember lowering the flag down a couple times myself in elementary school but the one thing I remembered was that the flag should never touch the ground or anything close to it. I googled around and found this:

Text from the United States Flag Code in Title 4; Chapter1; Section 8(b):

(b) The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the
ground, the floor, water, or merchandise.

Well... not to this Burbank Animal Control Officer.

Proper Flag ettiquette... not in Burbank.

Well... I can't read the words on his uniform so I'm assuming he's an animal control officer. I don't know. This just bothered me to see the flag just being laid there... all rolled up and stuff like a blanket. Oh... traffic is moving.
